The Nybron Bridge is being rebuilt

The Nybron Bridge in Borås will be rebuilt to make it easier for vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists to pass through. Construction will start on September 23 and is expected to last for about two years. During this period, the bridge will be completely closed. The area between Krokshallsberget and Yxhammarsgatan will be closed to vehicle traffic.

Södra Nybrogatan will also be closed, starting on Monday, September 23, and will remain closed until the end of 2024 or early 2025. Due to this, access to the Nybron parking garage from the street will be closed. Entry will be via Österlånggatan, level 3 of the parking garage. Please see the attached documents for more details. The gate between the floors inside the parking garage will remain open at night.

Tryckerigatan and Österlånggatan, which are normally one-way streets, will become two-way during this time.

Now it’s time to digitize your residential parking!

By September 30th, you need to apply for your residential parking permit through the company Mobill, either via the Mobill app or the Mobill website www.mobill.se.

If you have already applied for and paid for your residential parking permit in the Mobill app, you can disregard this email.

Only a permit will be required from October 1st—no ticket will be necessary. You will no longer be able to purchase your residential parking ticket through the apps (EasyPark, Parkster, Mobill, or ePark) or via a ticket machine. The area codes previously used, 60683, 60684, 60685, and 60686, will also be removed.

To purchase a residential permit, download the Mobill app or go to mobill.se. There, select:

  • Long-term parking
  • Add new
  • Select vehicle
  • Select zone
  • Select Borås Residential
  • Select Residential Parking Permit
  • Click on Apply for permit
  • Follow the instructions, and don’t forget to pay for the permit once it’s approved.
  • A tip is to choose automatic renewal of the permit so that you don’t need to reapply every 30 days.

After applying, and once the permit has been granted and paid for, the current two-year paper permit and residential parking ticket will no longer be valid and will be replaced by the digital permit from Mobill. When this is done, you can remove the paper permit from your vehicle—please note that the transition must be completed by September 30th!
